Sex doesn’t sell but certainly does attract

Ah yes. I am a man, in case you hadn’t noticed. And as a man no matter what, where or when a beautiful women gets my attention (my wife has explicit instructions to euthanize me if this ever changes). And it seem that the Social Media Gold Rush counts on this…. More and more my twitter account gets followed by Twitter Vixens. Scantily clad, very sexy pictures of women that get my attention. For the most part they are following 1000 with less than 250 followers, sell affiliate type products and typically have a “tinyirl” type website listed.

Twitter Vixens to follow me in 24 hours:

Women are not phased by the “sex to sell” approach. Sites like godaddy.com which have very “sexy & provocative” ads that are “too hot for tv” have 56% male / 44% female visitors, according to quantcast.com. (the norm is 48% male / 52% female) for a typical business type site.

Sex attracts, Headlines sell.

Social Media sites like twitter have text only posts (twitter vixens pics are in their profiles). All of the micro-blogging sites compel you to write concisely. Those that can write good headlines have a distinct advantage here. The sexy profile picture gets your attention and the post (headline) determines whether you’ll click through to the site they’re promoting. Pretty simple

Now that Facebook is opening up their content (your comments) to the search engines the drive to get your attention will become more aggressive. In my opinion, your need for quality articles and blog content is getting much greater.

Enjoy yourself, share yourself fully and allow yourself to have fun… After all, that’s why we’re here. The more fun you have the more you tweet and post to your wall. The more you post, the more traffic you’ll get. Converting them to clients… Now that’s another story. :D
