Reflections on Giving Thanks.
Each year at Thanksgiving I reflect on two things: Life and Business.
Life because as I get older and wiser, I realize when I was younger the advice that I was giving by my elders was mostly accurate. If I was able to understand what they were preaching, I would have saved lots of time, stress, money and grief. BUT NOOOOOO! I had to do it all MY WAY! In hindsight, it’s called growing up.
My step kids are both young adults and I’m watching them make the same types of mistakes that I made 25 years ago. It indeed is true that nothing new ever happens, it just happens to different people. I now know what it means when people say “I wish I know then what I know now.”
Business is quite a different story. I’m obsessed with business, the business of business, online business, offline business. If you saw the movie Forrest Gump, Bubba knew everything about shrimp… That’s how I am about business. I can bore you for hours with the details. AND I LOVE IT.
I started bizOmundo as a place where business people, including myself can gather and create business blogs. We started it last May and it’s gone better that average but not like I had expected. Sound Familiar?
In the process, I’ve branded myself a business development and web integration consultant with an intuitive flair. What that means is that people pay me to build websites for them and I love it. What sets me apart is my obsession with business. Most web designers and developers don’t know or understand business and how business maps onto an online presence. I understand business and I’m getting very good at integrating business savvy into web based systems.
As bizOmundo grows, it will be the platform for my 100x$100 websites project where I will build and monetize 100 websites that will make at least $100 passive income a month by Thanksgiving 2010. My intention is to have this project gaon momentum and share what I find that works, doesn’t work with you so you can start your own online projects that make passive income.
In giving thanks, I see that clarity of purpose and intention reveal the path in life. Taking consistent actions that you know are the “right” actions eventually open a path that makes you happy and lights you up. There’s nothing better that being happy doing what you love doing and getting paid to do it. That’s my definition of heaven on earth.
Happy Thanksgiving!
