What been on your To Do List longer Starting a Blog or Start Going to the Gym?
If your like most business people, it’s going to the gym but only beacause gyms have been around longer.
Business Blogging is Just Like Going to the Gym. To get results, You Gotta Get Started.
Starting to blog and starting to exercise are almost identical in nature. The Top reasons people don’t blog and exercise:
- I don’t have the time.
- I don’t know where to start.
- I tried it once and it didn’t really work.
- I don’t know what the best blog/exercise is for me.
- I’m confused. All the experts seem to contradict each other.
I saw this correlation when I was updating my journal and got to my exercise & meditation. I was writing down again about missing workouts and meditations and I noticed that the reasons and excuses running through my mind were identical to what I hear from clients about blogging and maintaining a dynamic website.
Over that past year, I’ve gotten good at getting results from my blogging. I have several Page 1 and Page 1 #1 Google results for key searches and our business networking site is approaching 1000 visits every day. On the other hand, I haven’t been exercising and meditating both of which work when I do it.
Blogging and exercising are similar:
- Both blogging and exercise work when you do it.
- Results take time with both blogging and exercise.
- You gotta find something you love (an exercise / blogging topic).
- Blogging & exercise require at least 30 minutes a day to start getting results.
- With practice you get better, stronger and more effective.
- In the beginning you need faith you’ll get results.
If you have a blog, publish articles 3 times a week. If you don’t have a blog, get one @bizOmundo or somewhere else. Instead of listening to music when you exercise, plan your next article or article series outline. The last correlation between blogging and exercise is both are quite simple, but neither is easy.
