What been on your To Do List longer Starting a Blog or Start Going to the Gym?If your like most business people, it’s going to the gym but only beacause gyms have been around longer.
Business Blogging is Just Like Going to the Gym. To get results, You Gotta Get Started.
Starting to blog and starting to exercise are almost identical in nature. The Top reasons people don’t blog and exercise:
I saw this correlation when I was updating my journal and got to my exercise & meditation. I was writing down again about missing workouts and meditations and I noticed that the reasons and excuses running through my mind were identical to what I hear from clients about blogging and maintaining a dynamic website.
Over that past year, I’ve gotten good at getting results from my blogging. I have several Page 1 and Page 1 #1 Google results for key searches and our business networking site is approaching 1000 visits every day. On the other hand, I haven’t been exercising and meditating both of which work when I do it.
Blogging and exercising are similar:
If you have a blog, publish articles 3 times a week. If you don’t have a blog, get one @bizOmundo or somewhere else. Instead of listening to music when you exercise, plan your next article or article series outline. The last correlation between blogging and exercise is both are quite simple, but neither is easy.

The Dymaxion map or Fuller map is a projection of a World map onto the surface of a polyhedron, which can then be unfolded to a net in many different ways and flattened to form a two-dimensional map which retains most of the relative proportional integrity of the globe map.
It was created by Buckminster Fuller, and patented by him during 1946, the patent application showing a projection onto a cuboctahedron. The 1954 version published by Fuller with the title The AirOcean World Map used a slightly modified but mostly regular icosahedron as the base for the projection, and this is the version most commonly referred to today. The name Dymaxion was applied by Fuller to several of his inventions. Find out more @wikipedia.
Reflections on Giving Thanks. Each year at Thanksgiving I reflect on two things: Life and Business.
Life because as I get older and wiser, I realize when I was younger the advice that I was giving by my elders was mostly accurate. If I was able to understand what they were preaching, I would have saved lots of time, stress, money and grief. BUT NOOOOOO! I had to do it all MY WAY! In hindsight, it’s called growing up.
My step kids are both young adults and I’m watching them make the same types of mistakes that I made 25 years ago. It indeed is true that nothing new ever happens, it just happens to different people. I now know what it means when people say “I wish I know then what I know now.”
Business is quite a different story. I’m obsessed with business, the business of business, online business, offline business. If you saw the movie Forrest Gump, Bubba knew everything about shrimp… That’s how I am about business. I can bore you for hours with the details. AND I LOVE IT.
I started bizOmundo as a place where business people, including myself can gather and create business blogs. We started it last May and it’s gone better that average but not like I had expected. Sound Familiar?
In the process, I’ve branded myself a business development and web integration consultant with an intuitive flair. What that means is that people pay me to build websites for them and I love it. What sets me apart is my obsession with business. Most web designers and developers don’t know or understand business and how business maps onto an online presence. I understand business and I’m getting very good at integrating business savvy into web based systems.
As bizOmundo grows, it will be the platform for my 100x$100 websites project where I will build and monetize 100 websites that will make at least $100 passive income a month by Thanksgiving 2010. My intention is to have this project gaon momentum and share what I find that works, doesn’t work with you so you can start your own online projects that make passive income.
In giving thanks, I see that clarity of purpose and intention reveal the path in life. Taking consistent actions that you know are the “right” actions eventually open a path that makes you happy and lights you up. There’s nothing better that being happy doing what you love doing and getting paid to do it. That’s my definition of heaven on earth.
Happy Thanksgiving!

It seems that every business owner already has a blog, getting a blog or is thinking about getting a blog and that’s for good reason. Business blogging works to get you business. That is if you consistently blog regularly in the right way.
Blogging is just like an exercise program only not as sweaty, most of the time.
When you start a business blog, here are the recommended practices for the first 6 months:
Looking at this list, I know that I’m missing a few steps and consistently completing these tasks takes about 18+ hour each week. For these tasks to produce results they need to be performed every week for at least 6 Months! And if you do all of that, you will start to get some traffic to your blog (100 or so people a day).
Sound like a lot of work? It is. Here’s why. With 100 people visiting your site a day, you will have about 2 or 3 people click through on your affiliate ads and banners. Let’s say that within 6 months you have 100 people a month click through on your advertising. Of the people that click through, on average maybe one (1) will by and generate a commission. That’s 1 sale a month after 6 months of working 18 hours a week. Wooopee! Dinner’s on me. Well in 60 days dinner will be on me, when the affiliate check is cut.
Does it sound like fun?
This is where business blogging @bizOmundo comes into the mix… we do the promotion for blogging community. You publish 4 articles a week and we promote handle the promotion to get people to your site. This is not a new concept. Websites like wordpress.com and blogger.com do this already for anyone who wants to start a blog. @bizOmundo we publish business blogs with core features that work to get you business.
I will be publishing more soon, but get started with a FREE business blog @bizOmundo. You have over 100 professional looking themes (blog designs to choose from) and options that make it easy to start blogging for business.
It’s been a long time since I’ve written a post for bizOmundo. I’ve been busy with some consulting gigs. It’s nice being paid to do what you love. People pay me to develop and integrate online systems for their businesses. I work from a SEO & SEM context and we create some very nice sites. I will be adding them to my portfolio when they’re live.
But my road map has been a little hinky! Since I’ve been away from the bizOmundo store, the sploggers have been having a field day. I haven’t decided to ax them yet or not. At least their posting some articles.
Also, we’ve kicking major a** over at our business networking events site. On the west coast we’re ranked #1 on page one of google out of about 58,000,000 results. Not to shabby. We’ve been there for about3 weeks now. It’s been quite a ride and I’ve lots of things that don’t work and quite a few that do for getting a decent search engine ranking. It’s fun because we’re getting ready to put the Networking Events site into overdrive and take it up a notch – imagine Emeril Lagasse BAM! What the means is we’re actively seeking sponsors to get our visitors to the next level. See Mindy over there and she will take care of you – be sure to mention my name (Terry).
As for bizOmundo, I’m reworking some of the components and will be adding some wordpress training videos for registered users. I’m revising my road map with some cool bells and whistles to help you start making money with your bizOmundo website. I have an assistant to assist me with the the marketing and promotions. We also have a graphics team that will create a custom look for your site that will have your visitors want to stay. More on this soon.
Also in the past 2 weeks, I have been doing lots of personal posts about James Arthur and his killing 3 people in a Sedona “pseudo” sweat lodge. I have a personal agenda to change some seminar industry practices and James “Death” Ray’s actions seemed like the right time to start my campaign. You can follow that @bizSayer if you choose.
Looks like we will be back full force with the bizOmundo revamping in November.
P.S. My new favorite blog is The People of Walmart – God I hope I never make it on there!

California Beaches
Who’s bright idea was it anyway to write a business article every Monday? Heck, I could have gone to the beach.
DUH! It was my bright idea. That figures. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time. What’s the last “good idea” that you had that you’re having a hard time getting it done. Ha – It makes me wonder is Obama still thinks being the President is a good idea?
Back to the business at hand. That’s the blogging business. BUT, will blogging save your business or just be one more good idea, one more hope and one more failed strategy? Hmmmm, whether YOU and Your business and blog are successful depends on 3 things. 1) Sharing yourself. 2) Finding your audience. 3) Consistency. Just like anything else, this takes time, commitment and passion to master.
I’ve noticed that people over 35 have a disadvantage doing business online because we didn’t have computers, the internet and cell phones in every room of our house and at school. Now that’s all different. Big Brother is here and he’s our friend.
Here’s what to do to get YOU and Your Business Blogging Successfully.
Here’s how it all works. You attract people that have the same interests that you have. You have fun doing it. You work and your passion combine to get you in front of people that you’re naturally attracted to and some of them will do business with you. It really is that simple.
Write about what you love and people will be attracted to your passion and point of view. Lastly HAVE FUN.
It seems that all of my memories growing up are related around food. All of our home videos ( Shot on Super 8 ) are the family sitting down to a meal. I grew up in the Southern United States where everything is made with real butter, real cheese, fried, bar-b-qued and lots of love. All of the chef’s in my family were the women, except for on the bar-b-que (the man’s job) and Paula Deen has nothing on the people cooks and chefs in my family.
Here are some of my favorite foods (each with a stack of fond memories):
Each of these has a special place in my heart (probably plaque in my arteries) that remind me of family, love and security on a primordial level. Ahhhhh.
In the business world and in life, it’s who you are that matters. Your history, your experience and your opinions, that’s what people are hungry for and crave. It’s the basics of human dignity, regard for others and honoring one’s self that matter in having a rich and fulfilling life. It seems that human beings seek answers to questions that deep inside that already know but don’t really like.
As you create and build a business, share yourself. Give it all away. Not physically and not your tiny little secrets, but give away your history, your traditions and your preferences. That’s what matters. I personally think that is the reason for Starbucks’ Success. Starbucks brings the aroma of coffee to a place where people can take time to connect. Now that’s rich.
What are some of your favorite foods?
If you want to make money online, you first have to think like your idea client thinks with they are looking to buy a product or service that you offer. The best way to do that is to develop awareness of your own online behaviors and patterns. There is a Zen Practice of “observing the observer“. When you think a thought, who is it that notices that you just had a thought? That is the observer.
For the next several days, notice how you use the internet.
Notice your thoughts about what you see, read and hear. Notice your behaviors. Notice everything.
Here’s why your internet shopping behavior is important: Like Attracts Like.
That the point of the movie The Secret. Everything about you attracts people just like you to your business. Let me say that again, everything about you attracts people just like you into your business. This is very cool when you understand it. You already know how to sell to the people that stay on your website, they are just like you. Simply answer the questions that you have and your more than half way there.
Enjoy. Publish your articles on these hot topics on your bizOmundo business site and we will promote you. If you publish articles on your own site or blog, please extend the courtesy to link back to this article from your site.
Whether you’re new in business, made it past the 5 year mark or a seasoned veteran we all need 3 things to be successful in business.
I’m quite reflective today. I’m reflecting back on my adult life. It seems that major life events are the cause. This year I have 2 major life milestones. First is my Mom & Pop’s 50th year wedding anniversary and second is the 30 year anniversary of graduating from high school. WOW! Time flies.
It’s hard to believe that I’m almost 50 and that I’ve been self-employed for most of the past 30 years. Looking back on the mistakes that I’ve made and everything I’ve learned is both tiring and invigorating at the same time. I understand in my whole being things that were only concepts when I started. I guess that’s what they call wisdom.
In the past 30 years since graduating high school, I’ve realized several things that apply to life and business. 30 years ago I didn’t believe that it could be this simple and now I know that it is simple. Probably even more simple than I imagine. Here’s what I’ve learned and experienced so far. In no particular order:
That’s about it for now. Take 30 minutes this week and look at what you’ve learned in life, about life and business. Take a few minutes to write it down and share it knowing that someone will benefit greatly.
Business Success: An Exit Strategy, Systems & Profits.
It’s a simple formula (not an equation),that takes years to perfect and a lifetime to master.
Self Employment is like being a plate spinner.
Everything in life, including life itself has an exit strategy (lest we forget that noone gets out alive). Your business exist strategy is an ending point, a goal or an objective that make what you’re doing real and fun, like a game. In professional football, it’s the Super Bowl. In baseball, it’s the World Series. In Golf it’s 18 holes. In dating it’s Marriage or Breaking Up in some cases. In Business your exit strategy can be almost anything (selling, liquidating, quitting, passing on to kids or going public). You get to say.
Business systems and processes are the difference between being Self-Employed and a Business Owner. If your business takes a vacation when you do, then you’re self employed. If you business runs regardless of your presence, you’re a business owner. Pretty simple, but not easy.
Even the best plate spinner has to be there to spin the plates.
Finally we have to have profits. Profits are the scoreboard in business.
That is the Business Success Formula.
Remember that business owners hire the best plate spinners, sit back and enjoy the show…
